Matt Williams is the Director of Capital Markets at Avatar Financial Group, where he is responsible for expanding the firm’s investor network and deepening relationships with family offices, wealth managers, and high-net-worth individuals seeking income-oriented alternative investments. In this role, he helps connect investors to the firm’s private commercial real estate credit strategies, with a focus on transparency, disciplined risk management, and consistent performance.

Before entering the private sector, Matt served with distinction for 20 years in the U.S. Army Special Forces, where he led elite teams across high-stakes missions around the globe. He was awarded the Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military accolade, for heroic actions during combat operations in Afghanistan, reflecting an extraordinary level of courage, focus, and leadership under fire.

Over the course of his military career, Matt held numerous senior roles, culminating in his appointment as a Command Sergeant Major responsible for operational leadership and training across Special Forces units. His experience leading under pressure, managing cross-functional teams, and executing complex operations in unforgiving environments translates seamlessly to Avatar’s mission of navigating today’s dynamic investment landscape with clarity and conviction.

Matt holds an MBA from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Angelo State University.
